[OpenAI and AMD Reach Multi-Billion Dollar Chip Partnership Agreement] OpenAI and chip design company AMD have announced the signing of a multi-billion dollar partnership agreement aimed at developing AI data centers powered by AMD processors. According to the agreement, OpenAI commits to procuring AMD chips equivalent to 6 gigawatts of computing power, starting with the MI450 chips to be launched next year. The procurement will be carried out either through direct purchases or via its cloud computing partners. AMD's CEO stated that the deal is expected to generate tens of billions of dollars in revenue for the company over the next five years. The agreement also includes an incentive clause: if OpenAI meets specific deployment targets, it will receive up to 160 million AMD stock warrants at a price of $0.01 per share, representing approximately 10% of AMD's total shares outstanding, provided that AMD's stock price meets the exercise conditions.
