[India's Central Bank Launches Retail Sandbox for Digital Currency] Golden Finance reports that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday initiated its retail sandbox project for Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), allowing fintech companies to develop and test related solutions within the existing pilot program. The announcement was made by Suvendu Pati, Chief General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India. The RBI's first retail digital rupee (e-rupee) pilot program was launched on December 1, 2022.
