BlockBeats News, October 11, according to insiders, the European Union will collaborate with the United States to formulate a new plan to implement the next phase of their trade agreement. The goal is to shelve Washington's proposal—which demands the EU revoke certain regulatory measures that have long been criticized by Trump. Insiders say the current idea is to create a "checklist" to ensure the agreement remains on track and progresses within the parameters set by both sides this summer.
Earlier reports indicated that Washington had requested Brussels to amend several laws related to technology, digital, and corporate environments earlier this month. EU officials deemed these demands overly stringent and unsuitable as a starting point for negotiations. The EU expressed its willingness to discuss these issues and address concerns but emphasized it would not relinquish its regulatory autonomy. Insiders revealed that after EU Trade Commissioner Šefčovič and US Trade Representative Tai held talks last weekend, Brussels decided to set aside these demands and instead draft a new checklist.
