[U.S. Judge Rules Again: Trump Administration's Linking Immigration Enforcement to Funding Violates Court Order] According to a report by Golden Finance citing CCTV News, U.S. District Judge William Smith of Rhode Island ruled on October 14 local time that the Trump administration violated his previous court order by re-implementing a nearly identical policy. This policy ties state cooperation with federal immigration enforcement to eligibility for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding. In his ruling, Smith pointed out that this action by the U.S. government is precisely what he explicitly prohibited in his September 24 ruling.
