Saw an interesting project today: @HabitatProtocol. Here's a quick intro.
Habitat is a DePIN project built on the Solana blockchain, focusing on converting surplus renewable energy into intelligent computing infrastructure.
Its core logic is: transforming wasted solar energy into green computing power for the Web3 world, creating a complete loop from 'solar power generation → Habitat energy market → modular data centers.'
Recent updates:
1. Secured a 45MW solar farm in Bulgaria as a core asset
2. Signed a memorandum of understanding with Sunnovate Group, a renewable energy company with an annual project execution capacity of 700MW across 11 markets

This collaboration enables solar farms to achieve 0% energy waste from the start, using Habitat tokens as 'energy credit intermediaries' to convert surplus electricity into tradable computing power certificates.
Habitat vs Ovpp
Habitat directly connects to energy stations, while Ovpp mainly connects to public power grids.
Habitat focuses on 'production,' turning wasted solar energy into GPU computing power; Ovpp primarily deals with 'trading.'
Currently, about 4% of global solar energy is wasted, equivalent to the output of several nuclear power plants. Habitat is trying to turn this waste into real digital assets.
Personally, I feel Habitat has more growth potential compared to Ovpp. It's earlier-stage, its logic is more promising, and its current market cap is relatively low. Entering at the right price point might yield good results.
