Yesterday, @GammaPure's post started spreading widely. Both the East and the West have begun holding people accountable. I don’t know if there will be a resolution to this, and even if there is, it might take a long time. But I feel that the industry participants and victims deserve the truth. I didn’t lose any money to begin with. My starting point was simply to hedge tail risks, which led me to start gathering information, analyzing, and cross-verifying my views with peers. At first, I was actually quite polite. Because the institution involved decided to offer compensation the day after the incident, I still thought that was commendable, after all, their engineers were probably still trying to find the root cause. But then things started to spiral out of control. First, they hired a bunch of bots to express gratitude for the compensation, then they hired professionals to whitewash the situation, trying to use "partial truths" and "seemingly objective educational posts" to cover up the full picture. They shifted the focus to other affected peers, and finally, "compensation" turned into "relief," as if saying, "I didn’t start the fire, but I’ll pity you enough to throw you a bone." As my anger skyrocketed, my tone naturally became less polite. After the FTX incident, I deeply understand how painful it is to be harshly criticized from a moral high ground. Accountability still needs to be based on data and facts. Looking back, I admit there were some emotional statements. If anyone was caught in the crossfire (excluding certain senior figures from the institution), I publicly apologize to you here. This matter has already taken up too much of my time. I haven’t properly focused on trading or product development for an entire week. The responsibility has been fulfilled. It’s time to move on.
