Two days ago, AWS experienced a massive outage, causing services like Perplexity, Robinhood, Canva, and Coinbase to go offline. Many DeFi frontends were also inaccessible because of this. This serves as another reminder: while Ethereum itself is decentralized, the *way we access Ethereum* is still centralized. In a world where internet infrastructure is dominated by giants like AWS, Cloudflare, and Google Cloud, no matter how decentralized your protocol is, as long as the entry point for users to interact with the blockchain relies on these centralized cloud services, it remains vulnerable. The next revolution the crypto space needs might not be a new chain, nor a faster Rollup, but a change in how we access the internet.
