BOFA’S CLIENTS ARE BACK TO SELLING STOCKS AFTER BUYING THE DIP
Bank of America Securities said clients resumed selling U.S. stocks last week after briefly “buying the dip,” led by institutional and hedge fund outflows.
Despite a 1.7% gain in the S&P 500, 2.1 billion in single-stock outflows outweighed 1.2 billion of ETF inflows. Institutions, who were big buyers the week before, became the largest sellers, while hedge funds extended their selling streak to six weeks. Retail investors kept buying, focusing on mid-cap stocks.(*Walter Bloomberg)
