China has a massive reserve of rare earths: China’s estimated rare earth reserves have reached 44 million metric tons. This is TWICE as much as the 2nd-largest reserve held by Brazil, at 21 million tons. The US ranks 7th with 1.9 million tons of rare earth reserves.
