🚨 BARCLAYS: U.S. SANCTIONS ON RUSSIA COULD PUSH BRENT ABOVE 85
Barclays warned that new U.S. sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil, which produce over half of Russia’s oil, could tighten supply and drive Brent crude above 85/b. A full halt of Russian exports to India could erase next year’s expected surplus. The Treasury allows limited transactions until Nov. 21, but afterward all deals benefiting the companies are banned. Markets remain calm, though Barclays notes oil’s resilience since 2022 doesn’t rule out sudden price spikes.(*Walter Bloomberg)
