I saw the news about the US-China tariff delay quite early, but since the entire internet is quoting Li Chenggang and there’s no statement from the US side, I wanted to wait for information from American sources. Although it’s probably not an issue, I still haven’t seen any confirmation from the US side. Even Bloomberg and Reuters are just citing Li Chenggang’s remarks. Li Chenggang was speaking with Baucus, but there’s still no statement from Baucus. It’s not that I think Li Chenggang’s words are problematic, but I feel that confirmation from both sides would be safer. After all, Trump’s TACO and flip-flopping are pretty well-known.
