Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands @ministerBZ, David van Weel, is in Ukraine. We met and discussed the most pressing issue at the moment – the energy situation in Ukraine. I expressed my gratitude for the new aid package supporting Ukraine’s energy sector. Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s energy and gas infrastructure, as well as the water supply system, every day. Therefore, we are very grateful for this support. Right now, one of our top priorities is a strong army, air defense, and the ability to strengthen our energy sector. We also addressed the issue of using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine. The Netherlands supports this decision, as well as the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia. We had a separate discussion on the prospect of holding Russia accountable for its war crimes. We thank the Netherlands for its role in establishing the Special Tribunal on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
