Lots of people ask me, how should newbies start learning? Honestly, I don’t have any secret tips—I’ve just always been curious about the world. I’m not super smart, but I always want to learn, try, and explore.
When I joined the space, I was still in high school, and now I’m just a college student. But from the very beginning, I loved diving in headfirst. You could tell from when I first joined: I was obsessed with joining groups. If I wanted to learn trading, I’d join trading groups; if I wanted to play with FT, I’d buy access to FT experts’ Telegram groups; if I wanted to understand something, I’d find groups in that field. My mindset was simple: I need to get in first, take a look, and start learning.
I’ve realized that true learning ability is actually pretty rare. For example, GPT is so popular right now, but very few people actually upgrade their ChatGPT to GPT-5. But this is the pinnacle of human intelligence! NVIDIA’s trillion-dollar market cap is built on this stuff, and it’s only $20 a month—worst case, just skip a few meals.
Nowadays, whenever I come across something I don’t understand, need translations, or need to look something up, I ask ChatGPT first. If I don’t get it, I ask GPT first, then go find real experts in that field. GPT gives me direction, and my friends give me experience. This approach has helped me develop a habit: always stay curious, even if I’m not the smartest.
Let me share a funny story about the first time I used ChatGPT: it was March 2023. I saw on Douyin that ChatGPT was amazing, so I went to register. Back then, it was still version 3.0/3.5, and the official website was different from the version you could actually chat with. I spent four whole hours figuring out how to register. Something you might be able to do in two minutes took me an entire afternoon. It was my first time using SMS verification websites, my first time understanding how to set up an overseas account, and when I finally logged in, I thought: how is this different from Baidu? I need to study this.
Looking back at my journey in the crypto space, it’s always been like this: wherever there’s hype, I want to learn; wherever there’s buzz, I want to jump in. Because I believe that as long as I keep learning and trying, one day I’ll figure it out and catch the right wave.
