What a march to glory by our Proteas at the ICC Women’s Cup in today’s ODI semi-final against England at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, India.
Setting England a target of 320 for the win, the Proteas’ 125-run victory was an inspired team effort topped off by our captain Laura Wolvaardt’s milestones of 169 in the game – the first century in World Cup knockout history – and the first South African to make 5 000 first-class runs.
Adding to this emphatic win was Marizanne Kapp’s seven-wicket haul which helped to launch South Africa into our first ICC ODI World Cup final - across genders - where India or Australia await.
Celebration is in order.(Cyril Ramaphosa 🇿🇦)
