Hong Kong Media: A truck in Huizhou, Guangdong suspected of carrying over 100 million in cash; owner claims to be in the cryptocurrency exchange business According to Hong Kong media outlet Dongwang, on October 27, a light truck in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, was found carrying a large amount of 100-yuan cash, estimated to be worth over 100 million RMB (approximately 109 million HKD). Local authorities stated on Tuesday (28th) that they would verify the situation. Viral footage shows the truck bed loaded with goods wrapped in plastic film and tightly secured with ropes. The truck's body had the words "private money" and a phone number printed on it. The person filming claimed the footage was not AI-generated. When they called the phone number on the truck, the man who answered initially insisted the cash was real and said he was in the cryptocurrency exchange business. He mentioned the truck was parked in front of his shop and that the police had contacted him but did not consider his actions illegal. However, when the local media identified themselves as reporters, he immediately changed his statement, claiming the cash was just a prop. The incident took place at the intersection of Maixing Road and Mingzhu Road in Huicheng District, Huizhou City. Several nearby businesses and establishments said they hadn’t noticed the vehicle. Local police stated they could not disclose specific details but would keep an eye out during patrols.
