BESSENT: FED SHOULD CUT RATES IF INFLATION FALLS
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the Fed should keep cutting rates as inflation declines. After two recent 25-point cuts, PCE inflation is 2.7%. He called the economy “in transition,” urging lower mortgage rates to ease the housing slump.(*Walter Bloomberg)
