Almost got confused by this fancy new term, Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). Just did a quick Grok DD, and turns out CRE packages Chainlink's core functionalities like price feeds, Proof of Reserve, CCIP cross-chain interoperability, and compliance review (ACE) into a reusable workflow that supports LLM/AI Agent triggers and interactions. CRE is basically Chainlink turning itself into an Agent, or you could say, Agentic Chainlink. Here’s an example: after integrating CRE, LLM/AI Agents no longer need to rely on AI search tools like Deep Search to fetch macroeconomic data, financial asset prices, on-chain events, etc. Instead, they can directly access trusted data verified by Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network. Of course, this is just one application scenario for CRE. Chainlink’s ambition with CRE isn’t just to be an oracle in the AI Agent era, but to become the coordination layer in the Agent economy system of the TradFi and Crypto convergence era.
