[Russian Crypto Fraudster Roman Novak and His Wife Kidnapped and Murdered in UAE]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Russian cryptocurrency fraudster Roman Novak and his wife Anna were found to have been kidnapped and murdered in the United Arab Emirates, in a case related to extortion of digital assets. Roman Novak had previously been convicted of large-scale fraud in Saint Petersburg before moving to Dubai, where he developed the Fintopio crypto application and allegedly raised hundreds of millions of dollars from new investors. According to reports, the couple went missing during an investor meeting and were later confirmed to have been lured to a rented villa where they were kidnapped. The kidnappers attempted to force Novak to hand over access to his substantial crypto funds. When they failed, the Novak couple was killed. Seven suspects have been arrested by UAE and Russian authorities. (CryptoSlate)
