In 2022, after learning he would be terminated, Shetty secretly moved the funds, initially earning approximately $133,000 in profits. However, following the collapse of the Terra ecosystem in May 2022, the investment was nearly wiped out. He later admitted to his actions and was dismissed by the company. Shetty is scheduled for sentencing next February and faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
