The Base app surprisingly went live right after the midnight launch event, and now everyone can download and try it out. This app supports two modes: the non-base mode, which is essentially the previous Coinbase Wallet; and the base mode, which is the new Base app. The experience of using the Base app feels like: social + trading. The social layer integrates with Farcaster, and the content token protocol is built on Zora. Since Farcaster hasn’t issued a token, the direct beneficiary here is ZORA. However, even after the launch event, ZORA is struggling to hold up amidst the recent market downturn. So, if the Base hype picks up again, the ZORA and Farcaster social ecosystem could definitely be breakout points.
