[Hong Kong Court Adjourns $206 Million JPEX Fraud Case to March Next Year]
Odaily Planet Daily News – During a hearing at the Eastern Magistrates' Court this Monday, the prosecution applied to adjourn the JPEX fraud case to next year to complete the collation of case files, and the application was approved. A group of social media influencers involved in the case are accused of endorsing JPEX and acting as public spokespersons for the platform's over-the-counter cryptocurrency trading outlets. The next hearing is scheduled for March 16. They face multiple charges, including conspiracy to defraud, fraud, inducing others to invest in virtual assets through fraudulent or reckless means, and handling property known or suspected to represent proceeds of an indictable offense. Of the eight defendants who appeared in court, seven were granted bail under their original conditions. Those involved include former lawyer-turned-influencer Lin Zuo, video blogger Chen Yingyi, former TVB artist Cheng Junxi, and fitness coach Zhao Jingxian. Cheng Junxi did not apply for bail and remains in custody.
