Back to the topic of altcoins—trading altcoins is mainly because the price swings are big enough. Why do so many people in the crypto space not like $BTC? Isn’t it because the price swings aren’t big enough? The reason altcoins have fewer trades now is mainly due to insufficient liquidity. To put it simply, there’s no hype about skyrocketing prices. Once the Fed enters a money-printing cycle and liquidity returns, there will definitely be a flood of users rushing back to altcoins. Most U.S. stocks don’t have bigger price swings than Bitcoin, let alone compared to altcoins. Plus, you can trade altcoins with high leverage contracts, which is something that’s hard to do with U.S. stocks. But when altcoins lack liquidity, there’s definitely not enough counterparties. Without enough counterparties, you can’t even open a contract.
