Even Elon Musk has been talking about the Somali fraud case in Minnesota these past few days. It's said that over the years, they've scammed more than $10 billion, with nearly $2 billion being sent out of the U.S. in just one year. Meanwhile, during the peak of Somali piracy, they only extorted a little over $700 million in four years. Looks like the pirates have found a less risky and more profitable way to make money. No wonder we don't hear much about Somali pirates in the news anymore.
