[Intel Sells 214.8 Million Shares to NVIDIA in a $5 Billion Deal] BlockBeats reports that on December 29, U.S. SEC filings revealed that Intel sold 214.8 million shares to NVIDIA in a transaction valued at $5 billion. Intel stated that the issuance and sale were conducted under the securities purchase agreement signed on September 15, 2023. (Jin10) BlockBeats previously reported that on September 18, NVIDIA announced a $5 billion investment in Intel (INTC.O) to support the struggling U.S. chip foundry company. However, NVIDIA did not grant Intel any critical chip manufacturing orders. The agreement also includes plans for Intel and NVIDIA to jointly develop chips for personal computers and data centers, which could pose a potential risk to TSMC (TSM.N). Currently, TSMC is responsible for manufacturing NVIDIA's flagship processors. As the world's most valuable company, NVIDIA may consider transferring part of this business to Intel in the future. Meanwhile, AMD, which competes with Intel in the data center chip supply market, could suffer losses due to NVIDIA's support for Intel.
