[Meta Acquires Manus for Billions of Dollars]
BlockBeats news, December 30, according to LatePost, Meta has acquired Butterfly Effect, the company behind the development of AI applications Manus, for billions of dollars. This marks Meta's third-largest acquisition since its founding, with costs second only to WhatsApp and ScaleAI. Reportedly, prior to Meta's acquisition, Manus was undergoing a new round of financing at a valuation of $2 billion. 'It happened so quickly that we even doubted whether it was a fake offer,' said Liu Yuan, partner at ZhenFund and angel investor in Butterfly Effect. The acquisition negotiations were completed in an extremely short period, lasting only about ten days.
Initially, the founding team was hesitant, but they were ultimately persuaded by the terms and vision presented by Meta's founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg and several key executives are also loyal users of Manus. After the acquisition, Butterfly Effect will continue to operate independently, with founder Xiao Hong taking on the role of Vice President at Meta.
