Been interacting with @rootstock_io recently in October, and they’ve been making a lot of moves. Let’s talk about the project from the perspective of their ecosystem layout for 2026. Rootstock can be understood as an upgrade package for the Bitcoin ecosystem. The main idea is to give Bitcoin more functionality beyond just being a store of value—like enabling operations in DeFi interactions such as borrow and trade. It smartly allows Bitcoin miners to simultaneously help secure the network, and the development process is almost identical to Ethereum. This makes it super convenient for projects to migrate over. After researching @RootstockCN, I found these three points that basically lock down the pain points— First, it directly “hitchhikes” on Bitcoin’s hash power to protect itself. Second, funds won’t “get lost”—the rBTC used on this chain is locked 1:1 with real Bitcoin and can be exchanged freely. Lastly, for developers, it’s fully compatible with Ethereum’s tools, so programmers can transition over without needing to relearn everything. Finally, let’s talk about the points I’ll keep an eye on this year. One is whether on-chain transactions will become faster and cheaper—especially with the ZK-Rollup scaling solution that’s about to launch. The other is user experience. Wallets and cross-chain solutions aren’t new anymore; the competition now is about how to make it faster and easier for users to surf the blockchain.
