Every crisis gives us a chance to improve. After Hurricane Melissa, I saw broken poles and communities without power. This shows why we must build a stronger, more resilient electricity system. We are asking: How do we put up poles that can withstand severe storms? How do we create areas with independent supply, add microgrids, or place lines underground? These steps require investment, but they are necessary to protect communities and critical services like hospitals, police stations, and airports. Recovery is about building resilience and security for all Jamaicans.(Andrew Holness)
