Additionally, in terms of pricing, 76% of service costs were ≤ $0.10; the optimal range was $0.01–$0.10 (69%). Median: $0.01. Service categories included data services (31%), AI/LLM (25%), blockchain (15%), utilities (12%), transactions (6%), search and others (5%). Some transactions were inorganic (ranking manipulation). Overall, x402 micropayments are still in a very early stage, but they are already showing signs of growth, especially in driving the development of the AI agent economy. While there are shortcomings in areas like discovery and trust, these gaps present opportunities for developers and builders.
