After Trump captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, he plans to let American companies enter Venezuela, take over the country's oil industry, and start making money for both the U.S. and Venezuela. Venezuela has massive proven oil reserves, making it one of the most important oil nations in South America and even the world. At the end of his career, Buffett held a large amount of cash, sold Apple, but kept buying shares of Occidental Petroleum. At the time, most people didn’t understand why. On one hand, U.S. shale oil production costs were high, and on the other hand, there was an oversupply of oil globally, with prices dropping. Compared to international competitors, U.S. oil companies didn’t really have much of an edge. Now, we all know why. That’s why we can’t become investment legends. Trump himself doesn’t care about international law, nor does he believe it exists. On the global stage, it’s survival of the fittest—nothing more. In fact, for many years, the U.S. hasn’t cared much about international law either; they just used to come up with an excuse. But now Trump is more straightforward. He doesn’t think there’s any need to come up with a fancy justification. Instead of excuses, he openly talks in press conferences about the benefits occupying Venezuela would bring to the U.S. Because his supporters don’t believe in things like “bringing democracy and freedom to other countries.” MAGA doesn’t get it—they just think, “What does that have to do with me?” So Trump has to spell it out for them, explaining exactly what benefits occupying Venezuela would bring to Americans. But regardless, such blatant plundering sets the tone for 2026. The world has definitely gotten a bit uglier. The UN is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Remember: the messier the world gets, the more valuable gold and $BTC become.
