SpaceNews just featured @getmaxspace, and the headline tells you everything… A space station that launches on a single Falcon 9. Everyone else in the commercial space station race needs years and complex assembly. Max Space packed 350 cubic meters (a third of the ISS) into one launch. SpaceNews covered how they're using a "morphic interior structure", soft materials that compress for launch, expand in orbit, and reconfigure for whatever mission you need. They brought in @Astro_Nicole (104 days in space as a NASA astronaut) to design the interior. The ISS retires in 2030. NASA needs replacements. Max Space isn't waiting. Prototype launches 2027. Full station to follow. Congratulations to the Max Space team. The space industry is paying attention.
