[Survey: 80% of U.S. CEOs Say Trump's Pressure on Powell to Cut Rates Is Not in America's Best Interest]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, founder of the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, pointed out that privately, U.S. corporate CEOs are 'deeply shocked' by the government's attacks on the Federal Reserve. Sonnenfeld and his colleagues found that among the 200 CEOs they surveyed, 71% believe the Trump administration has eroded the Federal Reserve's independence, and 80% say Trump's pressure on Powell to cut interest rates is not in the best interest of the United States. And all of this occurred even before the news of the Justice Department investigating Powell came to light.
