Wu Blockchain reports that the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia has indicted Venezuelan national Jorge Figueira, accusing him of conspiring to launder approximately $1 billion, with most of the funds flowing through cryptocurrency wallets and platform channels. According to the FBI, Figueira and his network used bank accounts, exchange accounts, private crypto wallets, and shell companies to convert illicit funds into crypto assets, which were then exchanged for USD by liquidity providers and ultimately transferred to personal and corporate accounts across multiple countries. The funds were traced to high-risk regions, including Colombia, Panama, and Mexico. Prosecutors noted that most of the incoming funds originated from crypto trading platforms, while outgoing funds were dispersed to domestic and international entities. If convicted, Figueira faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. https://www.(wublock123.com)/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=6&id=55218
