That 1011 insider whale on HL still got liquidated—$200 million gone in a flash. Since yesterday, ETH has been noticeably weaker than BTC. Early this morning, it only started to bounce back after hitting the whale's liquidation line. It's obvious the market was targeting the whale's liquidation. At the same time, BTC wicked down to $75K. Binance's BTC perpetual contract open interest dropped by 10,000 BTC, basically releasing all the volume accumulated over the past month or so. LSUR also dropped sharply from its peak. This kind of pattern—'open interest and LSUR rising together during a drop,' followed by 'a sharp decline in both after a wick'—is a classic move where bears gain the upper hand, pile on more shorts, and then stop after triggering massive liquidations on the long side. I mentioned this once in my channel back on 11/20 last year. In the short term, I think there's a need for a rebound. 1. MicroStrategy's cost basis will act as psychological support. 2. There aren't any larger leveraged positions left to target. Unless there's another macroeconomic issue, based on the current market structure, most of the longs that needed to be liquidated have already been wiped out. Bears don't have much incentive to keep pushing down. Closed my position at $84.5K with a stop loss, but re-entered some longs below $80K. My current average is around $78K. The quant strategy has been fully capitalizing on this pullback. But since running it from late November last year, it's been consistently profitable. Headwinds are inevitable, though—you can't avoid them. After 1011, the quant strategy has been halving its long positions, and the current drawdown is controlled at around 15%. These headwind periods happen about three or four times a year. When things are smooth, it's great, but during headwinds, it's all about controlling the drawdown. Once the price rebounds and MPI rises, the strategy will automatically exit the longs. Stop losses are just part of trading—stay calm and face it. We've been through this many times before.
