Amazon launches AI version of digital assistant Alexa in the United States According to TechFlow, on February 4th, Amazon (AMZN. O) officially launched an upgraded version of Alexa in the United States, providing an AI enhanced digital assistant to paying Prime members. Last February, Amazon announced the launch of a refreshed version of its digital assistant, which is built on a large language model and can generate real-time answers to questions. Previous versions of Alexa relied on pre written fixed responses for common questions. During the 11 month early trial period, US Prime members with an annual fee of $139 can apply to use the software and receive access in batches. Daniel Lausch, Vice President of Amazon responsible for the Alexa and Echo smart speaker teams, stated that as of January, tens of millions of people have been using Alexa+. Starting from Wednesday, non Prime users can also subscribe to Alexa+separately for a monthly fee of $19.99, which is approximately $100 higher than the annual fee for Prime members. (Golden Ten)
