BREAKING: 22 Bitcoin, worth about $1.5 million, seized in a 2021 case, have disappeared from a police-held cold wallet in Seoul. The Bitcoin were stored on a USB-style cold wallet and the case was suspended, so the loss went unnoticed for years. It was discovered during a nationwide audit of seized crypto, triggered by a separate case where 320 BTC went missing at a prosecutors’ office. The physical device was never stolen. Only the Bitcoin were transferred to an unknown external wallet without authorization. Authorities are investigating possible insider involvement or a security breach.(Jacob King)
