Lightning Labs releases toolkit supporting AI agents to use Bitcoin for payment

Lightning Labs has launched an open-source toolkit that allows AI agents to autonomously send and receive Bitcoin payments through the Bitcoin Lightning network, without the need for manual approval, accounts, login credentials, or API keys. This toolkit is developed based on the L402 protocol and follows the HTTP 402 "Payment Required" standard. It supports websites to send lightning network invoices to AI agents, who can receive digital payment voucher unlocking services or data after payment. The toolkit includes the "lnget" tool, which can automatically process paid content access requests and support AI to run lightning nodes, manage permissions, host paid services, and complete transactions between intelligent agents. It also provides spending limits and remote signature protection functions.
