The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration on cryptocurrency regulation and the launch of new digital asset products, supporting legitimate innovation and protecting investors. The memorandum aims to guide the coordination and cooperation between the two institutions, with a focus on supporting innovation, maintaining market integrity, and protecting investors and customers. Both sides plan to promote the development of a federal policy framework, establish an adaptive regulatory system for emerging technologies such as encrypted assets, and coordinate the resolution of regulatory barriers that hinder the legal launch of new financial products. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Michael Selig both emphasized the importance of unified regulation and its positive impact on market development.
