[OpenClaw Founder Claims Tencent is Mass Scraping ClawHub Data, Leading to Server Costs Rising to Five Figures]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on March 12, X platform user SnowShadow revealed that Tencent's platform SkillHub has been accused of mass scraping all skill data from the open-source project ClawHub and importing it into its own platform. OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger publicly responded, stating that he had previously received an email from Tencent complaining that the rate limits he had set were affecting their scraping speed. He noted that while Tencent was heavily consuming his server resources, they had not supported the project in any way, resulting in server costs facing pressure to rise to five figures. Peter Steinberger subsequently called on Tencent to provide some level of support rather than unilaterally consuming resources.
