[Citigroup Raises Oil Price Forecast: Brent Crude May Reach $80–$100 in the Short Term]
Odaily Planet Daily News – As the conflict in Iran continues to escalate, Citigroup's research department has raised its quarterly price forecast for Brent crude oil. It now expects the average price for the first quarter to reach $75, the second quarter $78, and the third quarter $68, higher than the previous forecasts of $73, $70, and $62 respectively. The report indicates that short-term oil prices may fluctuate between $80 and $100 per barrel due to geopolitical risks. Analyst Eric Lee believes that once U.S.-Israel objectives are achieved, the situation may stabilize, but attacks on regional energy infrastructure could still trigger an oil market shock similar to the 1970s.
