Iran considers allowing some oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and settle in Chinese yuan

On March 14th (UTC+8), CNN quoted senior Iranian officials as saying that Iran is considering allowing a limited number of oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, provided that the oil carried by these tankers must be settled in Chinese yuan. Sources have revealed that Iran is developing a new plan to manage the passage of oil tankers, which was proposed in this context. CNN pointed out that currently international oil trade is almost entirely settled in US dollars, with Russian oil being the only exception, with its trading currency being rubles or Chinese yuan.
