[An Israeli Air Force Reservist Suspected of Profiting from Confidential Information on Polymarket Trading]
According to Foresight News, citing The Times of Israel, a Tel Aviv court revealed on Thursday that an Israeli Air Force reservist is suspected of using classified information to trade on the Polymarket prediction platform regarding last year's conflict between Israel and Iran.
The defendant, a former Air Force major, was charged last month along with an accomplice with serious security offenses, as well as bribery and obstruction of justice. They are suspected of trading on the timing of the first airstrike in a 12-day war initiated by Israel in June 2025. The defendant's name remains under a confidentiality order.
After successfully predicting the event in June last year, the two reportedly earned a total of $162,663, which they agreed to split equally. Last month, prosecutors filed charges against the pair in the Tel Aviv District Court and sought to detain them until the legal proceedings conclude.
