[Kalshi and Nevada Regulatory Dispute May Be Appealed to U.S. Supreme Court] According to Cointelegraph, the legal dispute between Kalshi and Nevada over the regulatory authority of event contracts may be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Kalshi argued in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that its event contracts fall under the jurisdiction of the CFTC as "swap" products, rather than being subject to state-level gambling regulations. Nevada had previously required Kalshi to obtain a gambling license. Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal stated that the Supreme Court may rule on whether sports contracts fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the CFTC.
