[Strait of Hormuz Blocked, Iraq Transports Oil via Syria]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on May 4, Iraq's border port authority stated on the 2nd that 70 oil tankers loaded with crude oil entered Syria from Iraq through the Rabia border crossing on that day. This marks the reopening of this land-based oil transport route by Iraq after 13 years. The Rabia border crossing is located in Iraq's northwestern Nineveh province and had been closed for a long time following the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011. It was just reopened in April this year. The crossing is not far from the oil fields in Mosul and Kirkuk in northern Iraq. (Dongxin News Agency)
