[Apple Reaches $250 Million Settlement Over AI Feature Advertising Dispute, Eligible U.S. Users May Receive Compensation]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports, on May 6, according to Decrypt, Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit regarding allegations of exaggerating AI service capabilities on iPhone devices. Under the settlement plan, users who purchased eligible iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models in the U.S. between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, are expected to receive compensation ranging from $25 to $95 per device, covering approximately 36 million devices. The lawsuit centers on Apple Intelligence-related features released in June 2024, which failed to deliver as advertised, including the enhanced Siri functionality. Apple denies any wrongdoing and claims the dispute only involves two additional features within the Apple Intelligence suite.
