#Aave Founder Proposes Ethereum Foundation Reform#

Aave founder Stani Kulechov recently proposed 12 improvements to the Ethereum Foundation (EF)'s budget and operational structure, sparking widespread discussion within the community. He argues that the EF currently suffers from excessive spending and financial management issues, proposing to cut annual spending from $130 million to $30 million, and limit the number of employees to 80, even suggesting a reduction to 50. He also recommends streamlining the team structure, eliminating unnecessary positions, including executives, advisors, part-time roles, and interns, ensuring that 80% of the team comprises technical personnel, divided into small 5-person technical teams, each focusing on a specific area. Furthermore, he suggests establishing a 5-person leadership council, selected based on competency, with Vitalik as chairman, and enhancing financial management by internalizing the financial management team. This includes diversifying treasury assets into low-risk long-term assets (LRSTs), DeFi projects, and profitable Ethereum ecosystem projects, utilizing staking rewards to convert to stablecoins, and generating additional earnings through DeFi. Stani also recommends developing a sustainable revenue model by constructing a model based on transaction fees or staking rewards to support a reasonable EF budget. He highlights that the current team size can lead to communication breakdowns, advocating for a streamlined and more efficient structure focused on long-term sustainable development.It is worth noting that Vitalik Buterin also announced changes to the Ethereum Foundation leadership, stating that the altered leadership structure aims to achieve five objectives.
