Vitalik Buterin has responded to the controversy surrounding the Ethereum Foundation's leadership changes on social media. He clearly stated that he currently holds the decision-making power for the new leadership team of the Ethereum Foundation. The ongoing reforms aim to introduce a formal board of directors to the Foundation, but until then, the decision-making power remains with him. Buterin criticized the pressure tactics on social media, calling them detrimental to the working environment of good developers and making Foundation management more difficult. He pointed out that such behavior is not conducive to achieving the goals but rather decreases his interest in accommodating these demands. Additionally, he defended the attacks directed at Aya Miyaguchi, stating that the relevant quotes were subject to translation bias and criticized the attacks against her as "pure malice." Buterin also stated that the Ethereum Foundation should focus on the core areas of Ethereum that it can effectively represent while creating space for other organizations (such as Consensys or similar institutions) to develop other aspects of the ecosystem in a more suitable manner, some of which may even be more appropriate for profit-driven operation models.
