#Vitalik Responds to Ethereum Foundation Controversy#

Vitalik Buterin recently responded to controversy surrounding the Ethereum Foundation's (EF) leadership changes on social media. He stated clearly that he currently holds decision-making power within the new EF leadership team. The ongoing reforms aim to introduce a formal board of directors to the foundation, but until then, decision-making authority remains with him. Vitalik criticized the pressure tactics on social media, claiming they are detrimental to the work environment for talented developers and make EF management more difficult. He pointed out that such behavior is not only unhelpful in achieving goals but also diminishes his interest in catering to these demands. Furthermore, he defended Aya Miyaguchi against accusations, pointing out translation bias in relevant quotes and denouncing the attacks against her as "pure malice." Vitalik also stressed that the EF should focus on core Ethereum areas where it can effectively represent the project while creating space for other organizations (like Consensys or similar institutions) to develop other aspects of the ecosystem in more suitable forms, some of which are better suited to operate under a profit-driven model. He believes that the EF should not "half-step" but rather confidently represent the aspects of Ethereum it can effectively represent and intentionally create and foster open spaces for other organizations to represent other aspects of Ethereum.
