#Myanmar's Northern Telecom Fraud Group Eradicated#

The Ministry of Public Security recently announced that since launching a special campaign to crack down on telecom and network fraud crimes originating in northern Myanmar in July 2023, significant progress has been made. By the end of 2024, over 53,000 Chinese suspects involved in fraud had been apprehended, the notorious "Four Major Families" criminal group in Kachin State, northern Myanmar, had been completely dismantled, and all large-scale fraud parks in northern Myanmar near the Chinese border had been eradicated. Currently, the cases involving the "Four Major Families" criminal group are gradually entering the litigation stage. Despite the significant achievements in combating and governing these crimes, the current criminal situation remains severe and complex. Fraudulent groups are constantly updating and upgrading their criminal tools by utilizing new technologies such as blockchain, virtual currencies, and AI intelligence, leading to an escalation of the offensive and defensive struggle. The Ministry of Public Security will continue to leverage the China-Myanmar law enforcement and security cooperation mechanism, strengthen cooperation with Myanmar and other relevant countries, vigorously investigate cases, resolutely crack down on cross-border telecom and network fraud crimes, and safeguard the property security of the people.
