The essence of the world is impermanence | Buddhist thinking and cryptocurrency trading —

It seems like two unrelated things, but in essence, they are interconnected. Recently, I have enjoyed discussing these topics with AI, and many times I can feel the joy of integrating knowledge!

Why do I like Buddhism? Because Buddhism is a mirror that reflects the laws of any field, allowing us to find a path to liberation amidst attachment and suffering.

Whether facing the impermanence of life, market fluctuations, emotional ups and downs, or successes and failures, Buddhism provides a wisdom that helps us see the essence and transcend duality.

I firmly believe that the essence of wisdom is integration. As long as we grasp the core of the laws, we can find balance and meaning in any seemingly complex matter.

The main point is that we should not cling to everything with binary thinking. This is also the norm for most people's unhappiness. Dualistic thinking is essentially a modern spiritual cage, where people desperately rush to one side, only to hit a wall and then madly crash into the other side.

We need to understand the thinking of "emptiness." So, what is "emptiness"? It certainly does not mean for you to go to the exchange and short it!

What is "emptiness"?

Emptiness is not about erasing or denying; it is about insight and perspective. It is about transcending dualistic oppositions and seeing the non-essential nature of things in the present moment of experience.

The world of cryptocurrency trading is filled with oppositions of rising and falling, profit and loss, and people often get trapped in this binary framework. The fundamental reason for this behavior lies in the attachment to price fluctuations, believing that rises are "good" and falls are "bad," and trying to predict and control the market to obtain certain outcomes. But the reality is that market fluctuations are essentially random and uncontrollable; this attachment will only lead to repeated failures and severe emotional fluctuations.

The meaning of "emptiness" here is to see the impermanence and uncontrollability of the market, to let go of the attachment to rises and falls, and to transcend the framework of dualistic opposition.

1) The essence of price is emptiness:

The price of digital currencies is essentially the result of market sentiment and supply-demand relationships; it has no fixed value. A coin that skyrockets today may drop to zero tomorrow; a neglected coin may become a hot topic due to certain conditions. Clinging to the absolute "good" or "bad" of price is futile because prices are always changing.

2) Profit and loss are also emptiness:

The results of profit and loss are merely temporary numerical changes and cannot bring true security. Even if there is a profit today, there may be a loss tomorrow; today's loss may be the foundation for future profits. Clinging to profit and fearing loss will instead lead the mind to be swayed by the market, losing independent judgment.

So how do we understand these with Buddhist thought? We need the wisdom to transcend dualistic thinking—

1) Accept the impermanence of rises and falls

We must understand that market fluctuations are a natural law, so we will not have overly high hopes for rises, nor will we suffer greatly from falls. By not being greedy when prices rise and not fearing when they fall, we can maintain a calm mindset in the market.

2) Treat profit and loss with equanimity

Profit and loss are merely part of the market, unavoidable results of trading. If we can treat them with a normal mindset, not getting overly excited about profits or regretting losses, we can see deeper underlying laws.

3) Focus on the long term rather than short-term oppositions

Instead of getting entangled in rises and falls, it is better to focus on asset allocation, risk management, and a long-term understanding of blockchain technology and industry trends. This can help you break free from the short-term binary dilemma and find a more stable mindset.

After understanding "emptiness," transcending dualistic opposition, the practical approach may be—

Essentially, it is about seeing the impermanence of market fluctuations and the fact that we cannot fully control them, and formulating a clear trading strategy, such as:

1) Diversifying investments: Do not bet on a single coin, nor expect to predict rises and falls accurately.

2) Setting stop-loss and take-profit levels: Execute trades according to rules, without letting emotions affect decisions.

3) Holding quality assets for the long term: Let go of the attachment to short-term fluctuations and focus on long-term gains.

Think about it; this is the rule of the experts.

So, the "emptiness" in cryptocurrency trading does not mean giving up trading, but rather reminds you to see through the essence of the market — its impermanence and uncontrollability. Only by transcending the binary attachment to rises and falls, profits and losses, can one gain clearer judgment and a more peaceful mindset, ultimately finding one's own ease and wisdom amidst the fluctuations.
