According to reports, Argentine lawyer Gregorio Dalbon has requested a global arrest warrant for Hayden Davis, co-founder of the LIBRA token, which has sparked a political scandal in the country.

As reported by local media Página 12 and Perfil on March 11, Dalbon has submitted a request to prosecutor Eduardo Taiano and judge María Servini for an Interpol red notice against Davis. Currently, the prosecutor and judge are investigating the connection between President Javier Milei and this meme coin.

Dalbon stated in the application that if Davis remains at large, there would be a "procedural risk" as he could obtain substantial funds, thereby having the ability to flee the United States or go into hiding.

The document states: "His central role in the creation and promotion of the $LIBRA cryptocurrency, combined with the international implications of this case, increases the likelihood that he will attempt to evade legal sanctions."

Dalbon previously represented former Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in her corruption case. In his application, he requested the arrest of Davis and "the issuance of an Interpol red notice to locate and arrest him for extradition."

Interpol is the world's largest international police organization, capable of issuing red notices requesting global law enforcement agencies to locate and provisionally arrest someone.

The LIBRA token was created on February 14, and just minutes later, Milei shared the token on his social media accounts, causing its market value to soar to over $4 billion at one point. The creators of the token hold most of the supply and quickly sold off their holdings, leading to a dramatic price drop. Many believe this was a "pump and dump" scheme.

Days later, it was reported that several lawyers filed fraud charges against Milei in Argentine criminal court, accusing him of promoting the token, while other lawyers reported the president to local authorities and the U.S. Department of Justice for alleged financial crimes.

Milei claims he did not "promote" the LIBRA token and insists he merely "spread relevant information."

In a lengthy interview days after the collapse of the LIBRA token, Davis defended himself to YouTuber Stephen Findeisen (better known as "Coffeezilla"), claiming that the token was a failed project rather than a scam.

Davis and his company Kelsier Ventures are the biggest winners from the issuance of the LIBRA token. He claimed to Findeisen that he netted about $100 million but stated that he does not hold these tokens and will not sell them.

Subsequently, reports emerged that Davis sent a text message boasting about his ability to pay President Milei's sister, Karina Milei, to have the president share details about the meme coin on the X platform. Davis later stated that he had no related records on his phone and denied making any payments to the Milei family.
